I think you're hiatused but this is happening
Point is: even worse decisions than usual. Which is why after a conversation and a good deal of obsessing over it, Rachel hop-flies herself on her miniature wings over to the Blupjeans farm. The problem with not having seen Daisy all that much, though, is that she doesn't actually...know for sure which one is her chicken. Best to scoop them all up!!!
She gets out of the barn before the hens make a huge fuss, and it's extremely tempting to punt them back into the coop and be on her way. The chicks are looking up at her with such big eyes, though... And peeping...]
...Ms. Lup?
[There's the sound of a hoof gingerly being used to tap the front of the door. Sorry for the rudeness, but her arms are full...and she's still being assaulted by angry moms, help.]
oh my god
Luckily for all involved parties, it's Lup who answers the door instead of Barry - who would have just gone full heart attack at the sight of such an awful chicknapping - the naga peering outside with a frown before she recognizes Ray. Her mouth twists into a smile, one that immediately falters when she sees the chicks peeping in her arms... and the angry hens squawking all around her feet.]
Hey, hun... What's, uh, goin' on here?
no subject
Hi. I was going to take Daisy [JUST STRAIGHT UP] but I didn't know which one she was... Then I was going to take all of them, but...asking which one Daisy is might be easier.
[yeah Ray's brain is not firing on all cylinders these days. or maybe it's just firing on too many. no impulse control, baby!!!!]
no subject
Hm. [That's a lot, isn't it? What the hell was going on?
Lup takes a moment, just to slip outside to join the younger girl, taking the minute or so it takes for her whole tail to follow her before she shuts the door to the farmhouse behind her, leaving this just between the two of them, Ray's armful of chicks, and their angry mothers. The naga looks down, accessing the situation.]
So, lemme get this straight. You decided to pop on over to the farm and start abducting these babies from their mamas? And that sounded like a choice plan to you?
no subject
Yeah. ...But the way you said that makes me think not so much. She has to be old enough now, right? So...
no subject
Hey now, these chicks gotta be full grown before they start thinking about flying the coop. Still got some time in them, to make sure they get big and strong like their mamas. You wouldn't wanna hurt 'em, right, kiddo?
no subject
Still? I really thought...she'd be old enough...
[growing up is hard work...damn]

[Lup shifts, reaching up to drop a hand on top of Ray's head, giving her hair a tousle.]
C'mon, let those little babes head off with their moms an' we'll grab some tea an' chat.
no subject
I'm not grown up...but I can still live other places...
[She's lived so many places, now. Still, she looks between Lup, the babies, and the chickens for another minute and decides to relent, carefully crouching and setting the chicks free. Though she does get wingslapped in the face for her efforts and reflexively hisses and bares her fangs at the offending chicken. She's being nice, go away!!!!
Now grumpy and without a soft baby, she nods. Okay, teatime.]

Lup watches the chick's reunion with their moms before she's resting a hand against Ray's back and guiding her inside.]
Yeah, but s'different for chickens. When I was a kid, my brother an' I went off on our own at like twelve. We couldn't wait to get away from our family. But that don't mean it was easy. Chickens just aren't as tough. They need a little more nurturin'.

[Very impressive, even if she doesn't have a clue how elf aging truly works. She casts another look over her shoulder before the birds disappear from sight. Poor weak birdies...]
That's too bad... It would be nice...to have my birdie with me. [But Ray is compliant through her disappointment, allowing Lup to lead her without any resistance.] Will you tell me when she's ready? I don't want to always wonder...

The wait's rough, but growing up proper is important. We wouldn't wanna interrupt that, right?
[Ray's a good kid, even when she's all demon-influenced, so Lup leads her to the couch before she's slithering away into the kitchen to heat up some water.] Of course, hun. I'll keep you up-to-date with the all the info. But you know you can come over an' visit her every day, right?
