[Lup isn't completely awful all of the time. She wouldn't exactly call Malkus a friend--but to be fair, there are very few people outside of her family in this place that she'd call a friend yet--but that doesn't mean she's heartless. The elf's head tips to the side thoughtfully as Malkus flips to defensive mode, flapping his arms around like he was trying to take off from the ground, his whole appearance making the gesture more comical than the dramatic he was probably going for.
