That is the second or third time I've heard that word, and not just from you. Are these entities really like liches? Their magic seems otherwordly.

Seems pretty accurate to me. Haven't met too many liches myself--[the irony isn't lost on her]--but my brother knew a pair that sucked up negative emotions like they were going out of style. It made them stronger. Not knowing shit about the ones who run this place, I assume it's more or less the same. They must be getting more powerful from sucking us dry, right?
Then the solution will have to be sucking them dry.

Or just assaulting them, until they shut that infernal door that brought us here. If only there were some way for us to feel less.
