[Considering she has no nose to powder, Lup's there by the time that Drake arrives, hovering over a chair in the darkest corner of the speakeasy. She watches the rest of the patrons from under her heavy hood, watching the way they socialize, the way they drink, the way they dance.
Yeah, being a lich fucking sucks when she doesn't have a body.]
[ Drake nabs a drink first, before working his way over to Lup and claiming the seat across from her. It's too bad she can't drink or dance, but he's glad she came. He really needed the company. ]
Sup, homeslice. [Even if she can't actually lean on the table, Lup props up an elbow and makes the motion of leaning against it, closer to him. Interested and paying attention.]
[wait. people had to have a reason for drinking? shiiiiiit]
Can't complain. [besides a certain lady leaving hadriel and ruining lup's afterlife] All of my boys seem to be doing fine. Ango is--Oh, have you met Angus yet? No? I'll introduce you two later. He's pretty adorable. Anyway, I'm teaching him some recipes. It's going about as well as you can imagine considering I can't touch shit with these hands, but he's getting better. So, yeah, can't complain on my end.
Little bit of both, but we're sticking with the food stuffs for now. Taako's got his magic training down. [It's a little weird, to suddenly have to be a responsible adult when there's a freaking child in the house, but she's not completely failing.] And shit, yeah. We're pro level. Whenever we do our little poker night, I'll bring snacks along.
[The lich shifts her head, in a 'well no shit' sort of gesture.] Still waiting for the spilling, babe. Hit me.
A bit, but that's where--[and maybe her voice goes a little mumbly here] --Transmutation magic comes in.
[she will admit this to no one else ever again]
Oh yeah? So what exactly did I get clicking in your head? [After spending time with both boys, Lup already has a fairly good idea of what Drake's going to say.]
[ The comment about transmutation gets a little grin, but it fades quickly when Lup pushes for him to spit it out. They may have used the actual words once already, but that doesn't make it any easier to tell her. And he's not sure if it's his place to tell Ephemera's side. So he doesn't. ]
I'm in love with him.
[ He takes a long drink, because it has the potential to screw everything up. ]
I told him, and now I've gotta tell Liv, but I'm sitting here getting drunk with you instead because I know it won't go well.
She kind of sits back at that, surprisingly silent for the woman who always has something to say, quietly regarding her friend across the short distance between them. Lup has a lot of feelings about love. Some complicated, some easy, but all of them felt significant. And so very worth it.
Eventually though, she slides a hand over the table to rest over his, even if it isn't much actual comfort.] Yeah, it probably won't. [Lup's brand of comfort is a little strong. She sticks to honesty, even if it seems harsh.] But you're doing the right thing, telling her. [another quick, thoughtful pause] Maybe this is shitty of me to ask, but do you still-- [her free hand waves, vaguely] Y'know, love her?
I mean. It came up once back home, just casually. This is different, I don't think she's cool with sharing.
[ It's a nice thought, but Drake's being realistic. He's fully expecting to be dumped for this, or at least given an ultimatum he's not willing to meet. He's not giving up his friend. ]
Fair, that's all on her. [Liv had every right to either be down with the 'sharing is caring' path or not fully be on board. It's just a shame that her answer is coming out at odd's with Drakes.] Whatcha gonna do? What's your gut say?
[Maybe gut instinct isn't the best way to straighten out matters of the heart, but it may open up some insight.
The question thrown her way is a little surprising.] What? In love with my best friend? [she snorts. but, considering how private she normally is, Lup shrugs and answers honestly. Seems like Drake could use someone on his side right about now.] Yeah, natch.
My gut's freaking out. It hasn't even been a day yet, maybe I need to let it settle, or just talk to her first and see how bad things really are...
[ He doesn't think he can pick, honestly. And there's another layer of complication that he can't explain to Lup because it would out Liv as a zombie, too. He trusts her, it's just. Bad enough he told Ephemera without clearing it first. ]
I meant having to choose, actually. But that's good to know.
Well, first things first. [the woman summons a floating, spectral hand and gives his glass a little push towards him] You should finish your drink and order another. If there was ever a case to be made against sobriety, it's this. But, uh, I guess just do what feels right, as lame as that sounds.
I don't want to see you hurt, but I've got your back whatever happens.
And same thing, honey. In love with two people at the same time? Yeah, dug myself deep in on that one.
[ Yes, drinking is a good thing right now. He doesn't want to go into the conversation drunk, but it'll probably be awhile anyway. He takes another swallow obediently. ]
There's only one option that won't hurt and I don't see things going that way, honestly.

Can't complain. [besides a certain lady leaving hadriel and ruining lup's afterlife] All of my boys seem to be doing fine. Ango is--Oh, have you met Angus yet? No? I'll introduce you two later. So your turn to spill.

[ He taps a finger on the edge of his glass. ]
...there may have been something I wasn't telling you, last time we spoke.

[The lich shifts her head, in a 'well no shit' sort of gesture.] Still waiting for the spilling, babe. Hit me.

[ ...hit her, she says, and Drake huffs a tiny laugh. ]
Well, you were right. I've been too invested, and not wanting to admit to myself why that was. You sort of made me face it.

Well damn.
Drake's much braver than Lup took him for.

It's not shitty. Of course I love her. More than I think I can really explain, and being with her here has been amazing. That's what makes this so...
[ He's hesitant to say it's a bad thing, but. Either way he's losing someone. Just like Sweets said. ]
