Well it is accurate! They really are parasitic in nature. Turbo-lichens sounds as though we're trying to make them sound interesting and appealing. How about... slug... farts... I'll work it out later. Ignore that, scratch it from memory. What's important is that those against these entities are not separated!
I'd like to really get things in motion, or at least organized. Like The Guard, but... secretive. All clandestine of course. We need a gathering, to meet.
A secret group dedicated to taking out those assholes?
[Huh. Why hadn't anyone started one of these before? After her conversation with Hope, it's clear the gods of this place don't pay that much attention to them. It would probably go completely unnoticed, especially if it took place in one of their homes instead of over the network or in a more public place.
Lup takes a moment to mull the thought over, as if it actually requires more than a second to decide, before giving a decisive nod.] Count me in. No promises, but I'll listen to your pitch.
[ Malkus performed an excited fist pump at her confirmation. Yes! Now he just had to fine tune the pitch. While he's yet to actually see any of Lup's magic, he felt worlds more confident with the backing of a magical fae denizen. Maybe with luck he'd even be able to loop her compatriots into the mix. ]
Marvelous, I live in the park.
[ It rolled off of his tongue with no inhibition whatsoever. Only once he uttered it did he realize that message might need some unpacking. ]
So I don't- have... furniture, or tables. Or... anything a secret meeting requires. So. I will need... assistance in that area.
[Somehow, learning that Malkus lived at the park wasn't as surprising as it maybe should have been. Huh.]
Riiiight. How about we just have this secret meeting at my place? We have plenty of room. [and as if reading his mind--] My friends'll probably be into it. If you can really sell your plan. We're all pretty donezo with these shitty liches.
Good! That sounds like a marvelous idea! A band of adventurers as skilled as yours must be capable of doing anything! Oh goodness, I'm so excited, outside of my flock of doctors I've never been included in anything!
[ His voice halted abruptly, unfortunately too late to stop himself from expressing how much of a weenie the man was. It meant he had to take this so very seriously now. But he would come up with something! He was capable of it! ]
That is the second or third time I've heard that word, and not just from you. Are these entities really like liches? Their magic seems otherwordly.
[Oh Malkus, what a weenie of a man you are. Lup's expression doesn't change at his accidental outburst, but she's fairly experienced in not reacting.]
Seems pretty accurate to me. Haven't met too many liches myself--[the irony isn't lost on her]--but my brother knew a pair that sucked up negative emotions like they were going out of style. It made them stronger. Not knowing shit about the ones who run this place, I assume it's more or less the same. They must be getting more powerful from sucking us dry, right?
Then the solution will have to be sucking them dry.
[ The words rolled out of his mouth without any forethought. He clutched his fists as if it had been an intended outcome, though. It only took a moment for him to realize that this wasn't how it worked. ]
Or just assaulting them, until they shut that infernal door that brought us here. If only there were some way for us to feel less. I can craft a soporific, but then I imagine Tranquility would rise to power! But really, I'll have to try and pull this together very soon. You let your kindred know and I can contact whoever else you think might enjoy this meeting.
[Lup is absolutely not following, but she'll pass the words along if she remembers to. There's a lot going on right now, it may get forgotten. No promises.]
Sounds chill. I'll talk to my people, you talk to yours, and we'll plan something. [Maybe. She's not sure how this is going to go yet.]
